It's Almost That Time Again...

In preparation for Hoosier Hysteria this Friday night I have picked my five favorite Hoosiers of all time. This is not a list for the "greatest" Hoosiers but my personal favorites. It is based on my limited years of watching the greatest program in the history of college basketball.

The top five:

5. Tom Coverdale

Coverdale played point guard for the Hoosiers from 1999-2003. During his junior year he led Indiana to the Final Four and upset 3-seed Oklahoma to reach the National Championship game. Coverdale finished his career at Indiana ranked 2nd in 3-pointers made (200) and 3rd all time in assists (500). He is still the only Hoosier to ever have 1,000 points, 200 three-pointers, and 500 assists in a career.

4. Damon Bailey

Bailey finished high school as the state's all-time leading scorer, with 3,134 points during his basketball career and captured the title of Indiana's "Mr. Basketball" during his senior year while winning the State Championship in front of a crowd of more than 41,000 people, the most people to ever attend a high school basketball game.

A four-year starter for the Hoosiers, Bailey finished sixth on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,741 points. He also garnered a third-team All-American award, first-team All-Big Ten award, and he led IU to a Final Four appearance in 1992.

3. A.J. Guyton

Guyton became just the eighth Hoosier to notch 400 points, 100 assists, and 100 rebounds in a single season, and just the second freshman (along with Isaiah Thomas).

Remembered by Hoosiers fans as one of the best to come through Assembly Hall he finished his career as the all-time leader in three's with 283 and 4th on the all-time scoring list with over 2,100 points.

2. Steve Alford

Alford’s legend started in High School as he was named Indiana’s Mr. Basketball in 1983. While at Indiana Alford became the university's all time leading scorer with 2,438 points. Alford was the first player to be named the team's MVP four times. He was also a first team All-American, and was the named Big Ten MVP during the 1986-87 season. Alford's free throw percentage of 89.8% is fourth in the history of the NCAA.

In 1987, Alford led the Hoosiers to the NCAA Championship Game against Syracuse. Alford did his part, shooting 7–10 from the 3-point line, scoring 23 points.

1. Calbert Chaney

· 1993: Won all 12 NCAA National Player of the year awards. Unanimous First-Team All America

· All-America 1991, 1992, 1993

· 1993 Big Ten Conference MVP

· All-Big Ten 1991, 1992, 1993

· Big Ten's All Time Scoring Leader (2,613)

· Indiana University's All-Time leading scorer

· Four time IU team MVP

· Selected to Indiana University's All-Century First Team

· 1993 College Player of the Year

St. Patty's Day

Connor got to celebrate his Irish heritage on his first St. Patrick's Day. Dressed in green, Connor got to hang out with: Timmy, Megan, Addison, Corn, Andrea, James, Nicole and Aunt T. We had a good time hanging out with our friends and drinking some cold green ones. We are looking forward to Connor getting to grow up around such great "Buddies". We got a great picture of Connor with his Buddy James. (Connor is happy that James is having a baby boy in July!)

I'm Back!

So we've been pretty bad about the blog lately. But, we're back (at least for now). Mr. Connor is getting HUGE! Still working on getting some teeth and crawling. No luck yet on either front. We'll be sure to post if either happen.

Snow Angel

Mommy finally did it. She took a good picture. Not one of my mom's better features. She took this one on my first snow day ever! It was a blast. I looked at the snow and watched my daddy clear the driveway for two hours. I didn't even remember that I was sick. Speaking of sick, I've been doing much better. But I have to get breathing treatments every 4 hours. I'm not a fan! But I'm feeling better and hope to be back at Aunt Tammi's by Monday. In the mean time mommy and daddy will just have to keep using up all of their vacation time to stay home and play with me. I want to play with the other kids but I'm still contagious. Ok, time to go make a snow angel, or maybe I'm the snow angel ;)

The Croup

Connor has croup. We were unfamiliar with croup until yesterday when his Aunt Tammi said that he had a croupy sounding cough. Then we called the grandma's and took him in to see Dr. Jason at Clarian West. He gave Mr. Connor a quick shot of roids and told him to hit the gym.

The poor guy has the worst sounding cough. Dr. Jason said to take him out into the cold air or into the bathroom with a hot shower running and that should provide some relief.

What an exciting weekend this is gonna be.
